Privatized government
A experimental form of government that operates similarly to a subscription service, where citizens pay for benefits but they can choose between several options of government in a city. This type of government is usually seem in independent cities and it's citizens are called free citizens.
How does it work
The city is divided in areas that are each controlled by a corporation, and once a citizen subscribe to a company they have to live in their corporation zone. To keep them from moving to another company they offer several services to improve the life of their clients. But if they can't afford a subscription anymore they are kicked out of the zone and usually go to the slums, these people are called corpoless, they are below other citizens having to obey laws with no one to protect them from injustices.
Not every company act exactly the same, and they always try doing something that will attract more clients, like offering better or exclusive services.
Services Available
Law enforcement
Acting as a judiciary and police replacement, acting always to protect the safety of their clients, they don't care about citizens from other companies and have complete disregard for corpoless.
Housing
It can be provided by the company, the more you pay the better are the accommodations you have access to.
Infrastructure
Transportation, Water, Energy, Telecommunication, Education, Health care, Recreation, you name it, all made and maintained by the company.
Cities
They usually have between 4 to 7 corporation zones and their size can vary a lot,
The process of law making was streamlined and it's all made in a quorum with the companies representatives, they can pass new laws in sort periods and send everything a feed for the citizens. The instance of each company in each subject is public, so other companies can use that against each other to attract new clients. It's a silent war waged for profit where a whole company could be ruined and absolved by another just by making a simple mistake.
Corpoless
They live outside of companies zones, marginalized, they have the duties but none of the rights, they only have access to the slums and commercial zone that is a common area for all citizens regardless of companies. But because they are free citizens they can't migrate to a country, so they stuck in this situation.
